Dr. Sunder Iyer has been practicing the science of Yoga for more than 30 years. During his youth, Dr. Iyer spent over 15 years at the ashram of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. During that time, along with earning his PhD, Dr. Iyer learned traditional yogic practices and philosophy. He also studied ancient Sanskrit texts different schools of yoga. He had the opportunity to learn the philosophy of yoga directly from his spiritual teacher, Sri Sathya Sai Baba, as well as from other yoga masters from the Himalayas and Tibet. Dr. Iyer is also an ordained Ecumenical Minister, ordained by the Ecumenical Ministry for Unity of Religions in Ojai, California. He speaks and conducts Unity of Religions programs in different parts of the United States and Canada.

Dr. Iyer has dedicated his life to spreading the message of yoga, wellness and human advancement through spirituality. In this workshop and retreat, Dr. Iyer seeks to share his knowledge of human advancement and yoga to help others experience life to its fullest potential.

Module 1: Yoga for Beginners

Simple yoga postures and breathing exercises suited for all ages.

Exemptions: Anyone who has had a recent surgery or injury

Module 2: Yoga for Seniors

Yoga postures with a chair, ideal for seniors (aged 50 and above)

Exemptions: Anyone with a pacemaker, heart ailment, or recent surgery

Module 3: Yoga for Backache Relief

Demonstration and explanation of yoga postures and lifestyle changes that will help provide relief from backaches.

Exemptions: Anyone who has had a recent surgery or injury. People who are undergoing advanced medical treatment for backaches should seek prior approval from their physician before attending this session.

Module 4: Yoga for Youth

An active yoga class for young people that will challenge their flexibility, strength and balance.

Exemptions: Anyone who has had a recent surgery or injury.

Module 5: Pranayama Breathing Exercises

Different kinds of yogic breathing exercises that will help in detoxifying the body and help with improved respiration. These exercises are also good as a pre-meditative practice.

Module 6: Holistic Food & Lifestyle

This is an interactive session (Q&A) mainly focused on holistic food choices that will help maintain good health and yoga practice.

Module 7: Self Actualization and Integration (SAI)

This is an introduction to the different paths of Yoga and integration. Learning to know Yoga as a royal path to enlightenment.

Module 8: Guided Meditation with AUM and chants

This is an introduction to meditation using chants.

Exemptions: None

Module 9: Yogic Food Preparation

A hands-on demonstration of how to prepare a yogic lunch

Exemptions: None

Module 10: Yoga and Stress Relief

Simple exercises followed by deep guided meditation

Exemptions: Anyone with ADHD or Autism
